Alright, so I'm all caught up on LJ now... or, at least as caught up as I'm going to be. If anything really important happened that you think I should know about, somewhere between like the 1st and the 4th, please call my attention to it here. Otherwise, I probably ain't gonna see it. :-P

That being said... I am not completely oblivious to events that have transpired throughout the world.

[info]freakylynx, I am aware that it was perhaps foolish of me to make a bet that even if I won, I could potentially not collect on it for another 60 years or so. That being said, I'm thinking it quite possibly might be entirely fair to call in ours, given recent events. [info]tigerfoxx tells me he's all ready to be pretty during Furfright, perhaps you guys should make it a double? You could make it a sort of Mommy / Cub thing... ;) *slurps!*

In other news... OMG LESS THAN A WEEK TILL WE MOVE!!!1111ONE!

Nah. You haven't missed anything in my little life... At least what passes for it anyway. Good luck with the move, and I hope it goes well. :)

She could be thinking longterm, such as 2016 or 2020, for a candidate she's still fairly young. I haven't heard if she's mentioned some sort of reason for her recent actions, so I'm not giving up just yet :P

Tsk, I dun care if you're a Republican or not, you still actually want this one? ;-P In any case, I've never heard of any Republican or Democratic nominee coming from having *no* office to start with. Unless you think maybe some third party will adopt her, like Nader on the left. But then again, see how far those ever go too. :-P

Still want her as Prez? Yes, she's still be on my list of wanted candidates. But anywho, beats having a guy who is nothing but broken promises and an expiration date on everything he says. Not to mention he campaigned on having experience from campaigning ;P

So, absolutely no difficulty, then, with running for President, while not actually holding any elected office, check, got it. ;)

eh, we'll see. I won't say I agree she made the best call but then I'm not in her situation so I couldn't say what sounds like a good idea or not. Keep in mind the many many vicious and wrong allegations that are constantly being hurled at her (even in the announcement of her resignation there was some really nasty things being said... I'm thinking of one in particular that was talking about retards), it could be that she thought it was in Alaska's best interest to have someone who the media won't obsess over. For someone who just has blind political ambition, such a move would be unheard of; she's not following that philosophy of getting elected then spending all your time in office running for a higher up office while being paid on the taxpayers dime and just voting present, I'd say that's something at least.

I'll propose two other possibilities that fit these circumstances, that I think you may be overly avoidant of.

1) She actually is, in fact, just as stupid as I, and others, and, increasingly more people who worked with her on the McCain campaign have been/are now saying

2) There is plenty of actually legit shit on her that she's trying to avoid come out even more, and perhaps entirely new shit that she's trying to keep in the bottle all together.

I'm not saying that I have any kind of new proof of either or both of those things, above and beyond any of all of our posts over this stuff to date, I'm just saying that those are also reasonable possibilities given the evidence thus far, which should also not just be discounted out of hand.

Nah, I really don't know whether it was a good decision or not. My gut tells me it wasn't but... lots of decisions are made which may seem risky or safe when they're made, may be called stupid or smart by the masses; it's only in hindsight that we ever know 100% whether they worked as intended. Without knowing more, it's all a guess anyhow.

Out of numerous lawsuits made against her, I have not heard of anything actually sticking. I'm sure it'd be on front page news for weeks had any actually come up guilty. I'm discounting such things not out of hand but because those bringing it up seem obsessed at any cost to do damage to this woman. Seriously, there have been some very very absurd and vicious charges laid against her. I say those bringing up the allegations no longer deserve any sort of the benefit of the doubt, they've abused any such feeling to an awful degree.

Nah. She's not stupid. She's a mixture of neurotic and narcissistic though, best I can tell.

Plus I think the baby daddy is right that Palin may have wanted to cash in on her fame. I'm sure in her mind she can still rally the troops from the outside.

"she's not following that philosophy of getting elected then spending all your time in office running for a higher up office while being paid on the taxpayers dime and just voting present"

Annnnd... actually, as far as this goes, yeah, she's been more out of Alaska, since the election, than she's been in, to the point where the state legislature couldn't get their normal budget business done, cause she was still off doing national spotlight stuff. :-P

Anyway though, we'll see, I'm sure there'll be something to bet over in 2012, Sarah or no. ^.^ I'll see if I can round you up a little coterie of babyfurs for fashion advice. ;)

But anwyas, what was the timeframe for the outfit? I'll hold to it even if we don't hear her plans for what she believes her political future may be... though I don't think I agreed to wearing the overalls for all weekend ^.^;;;
[info]quentincoyote wrote:

Lol, that's fine. It (the time frame) was loosely agreed as "whatever the next con we're both/all at", and I wouldn't say the entire weekend, no, just parade around a little bit, one time.

I'm perfectly willing to consider an entirely new bet, should she in fact make another run again. ;-P
[info]freakylynx wrote:

Ah, but the original bet was that she would be elected in her lifetime. So running for President and winning, whether first time or last, would fit the bet. But yeah, who knows if she's even interested in that office or if she's got something else in mind these days. That being the case, it's more likely that she won't be winning the Presidency.

I don't even know where babyfur outfits can be found, I need help on that point ^.^;;;

Dude. Why even bring her up. Stick a fork in her she's done for elected office. The conspiracy and nut bars will continue to furiously masturbate at the idea but at the end of the day she can't make any case for seeking higher office.

oh and good luck with the move ^.^

Two people we won't be seeing running for office in 2012

Rush Limbaugh
Sarah Palin

Limbaugh because he won't give up his paycheck(President would be a huge salary cut for him). Palin because she seems to be done with politics for now. I still haven't seen any shit on her that ISN'T related to her at-home life that was validated, but having your private life dragged into the light and everyone in the media screaming, "LOOK AT THIS WHORE SHE HAD CHILDREN OUT OF WEDLOCK"- I can imagine I wouldn't want to have anything to do with politics after that, either, lol.

Also Sanford. Much like John Edwards he is toast for any further office holding. They're just something about South Carolina.

Oh boo hoo sorry but my empathy for politicians who complain about that is next to nil. Yes it is wrong for the media to do that. Sure, empirically that is obvious. However in the real world they still do it and their audiences lap it up and encourage them. They've done it for decades. Did ex-governor Palin honestly think she'd avoid that kind of drubbing? She appeared two months before the election which would inherently ensure she'd get the camera lens shoved into every orifice she had. Every politician gets this crap at some time in their career and they should all expect it. I don't approve of it but when these politicians whine about it they lose whatever respect I had for them, and seeing as they are politicians I have very little to begin with. If she actually thought she wouldn't get this then she really is as naive/stupid as her detractors proclaim. Even Bush knew and expected this.

Yeah because her billing the state for <a href='http://current.com/items/90268657_sarah-palin-pays-back-alaska-for-those-family-trips.htm">travel</a> (random crappy link i found in three seconds becuase I honestly don't want to bother digging deeper for this waste of space) and troopergate (which has everything to do with abuse of power) are really involved with her personal life.
